Hillsong

We woke up early and ate breakfast with Nortemba before walking around the neighborhood for a little while.  We had to be back at Mama Nox’s (the lady who set up the homestays) house and ready to be back on the bus by 9AM.  Mama Nox had some beaded necklaces set out that we could buy, but since I had not brought much money with me I could only buy one.  We took a group picture and then boarded the bus to head back to the ship.

I had to be ready to go to church my 10, so I ran back to my room to take a shower and get dressed.  One of the lifelong learners had told us during one of the worship nights that we would be near the Cape Town Hillsong church, so a group of us had decided to go.  We took taxis to the church building.  When we got there, there were hundreds of people walking out from the previous service.  We immediately made our way inside to take seats.  It was dark inside and there was already music playing.  It reminded me a lot of my church back home, only with Australian accents.  I loved every minute of it and wanted to go back again for the five o clock service, but we were not able to make it a second time.

After the service we headed back to the ship.  We missed lunch, so Liz K., Lauren and I bought dinner on the 7th deck while we tried to decide what to do next.  There were a couple of others that had gone to church with us and were already up there eating.  We all decided to get off the ship and walk around.  Lauren left to go to a homestay so now it was Me, Liz K., Christina, Kara, and Rob.  We ended up getting some ice cream and hanging out for a while.  Liz K., and I decided to go shoe shopping since we needed shoes that we could toss out after India.  The others went to get drinks.

Liz K. and I looked in nearly every shoes store to find cheap enough shoes.  We ended up buying the same kind for about $20.  Mine are bright red and Liz K.’s are lime green.  I think I love mine too much to toss them out after India, so I am not sure it solved the problem.  We then headed back to the ship for dinner, even though we weren’t really hungry.  There was supposed to be a concert that night that I wanted to go to, but we couldn’t figure out the right time and missed it.  Instead Liz K, Liz O, Josh and I went on a search for internet.  There was wifi at the mall at the Waterfront, but we all went to the iStore to use their computers.  Only one computer and a couple of iPads were set up to use internet.  I am pretty sure there was a reason for that, but I am not sure what it was…  Maybe all of the college students coming in to check Facebook?

Anyway, after that we heading back to the ship and I went straight to my cabin to sleep.
