So Adrianna (my roommate) was quarantined today. Turns out they take food poisoning pretty seriously around here. From the rumors I have heard around the ship (and partially emailing Adrianna from quarantine) it sounds like they are being kept in an empty room with padded white walls on Deck three with surveillance cameras watching their every move and having implants put into their brains. I am only certain about the Deck 3 part, the rest is speculation.
Today was pretty much the same as most days at sea. I went to school, did homework, played some guitar, did more homework, and ate food. A few hours ago there was a seminar by one of the students called Deaf Culture. Destiny has been deaf for a few years now and she was able to come on SAS and bring her own interpreter. The seminar was to teach people a few signs and tell them about deaf culture (obviously). I have only talked with Destiny briefly, but she seems like a really cool person (she can read some lips and has an implant that allows her to hear some sound). Hopefully I will get the chance to speak with her some more during the next few months.
Since I have the room to myself tonight I am thinking of doing something fun, like watching Rear Window on the TV while I do my homework and vicarious voyage paper… It’s either that or the Hangover. Rear Window is playing for the Women and Film class to watch, the Hangover is playing since it is movie night. I think I am more of a Hitchcock person than a Hangover person, though. I don’t know why my classes don’t assign us any of the cool films. So far I only got to watch Fitzzcarraldo, which I missed most of since movies play on a continuous loop so no one knows when they actually start. Anyways, that’s it for me tonight!
I would go for Rear Window. My mom loves Alfred Hitchcock.
