A Diving Tour and A Walking Tour

Mom has gone off to tour the ship with the other student's parents and I have been left here to entertain myself.  So, since there is no silly string readily available, here is another blog post about what we have been doing while in Nassau....

Mom and I spent Monday and Wednesday diving.  I took my new GoPro down and it worked awesomely!  Of course, with the way the lens on the water proof cover is shaped it messes up the quality a little, but here is what I got!

Just some coral...

Fish...

I chased this guy around for a while...  He didn't want his picture taken.

This was a lobster once...

Most of the dives were around wrecks, so we got to swim around and through them, which was really cool.

I think that's me, but I can't really tell.

Pretty sure this is Mom.

I just like this...  I wonder if every time they see this the fish think "Well, looks like the aliens are returning to the Mother Ship now"

Mom and I underwater...  She was supposed to breath in, but her face is covered in bubbles.
Diving was really fun!  It was only my second dive trip, but now I have about 14 dives logged in my book.  On the second day Mom and I were the last two off the ship and the last two to get back on because we had enough air left that the Dive Master let us swim around and explore a little more than everyone else.

Yesterday we took a break from diving and spent the day walking around downtown Nassau.  We met Liz, who is another Semester at Sea student and she came with us.  The pictures got uploaded backwards, so this is the opposite way of how we walked around.

This was a Church building we saw in town.  It was beautifully built!

Just a few random things we thought looked cool...

Liz and I...  I think we are across the street from the government building here.

The highest point in Nassau...  Only 5,900 feet lower than my house!

Just some cool stairs...

Turns out we don't have to go to the Taj Mahal anymore because there was one here!

Outside of the library and museum.

Lunch at Cafe Matisse!  It was amazing!  I had the cold almond soup with cucumbers...  And something else, which was really good.

There was our tour of downtown!  Tomorrow I board the ship at 11am and then I am off the sail the world! I am not sure if I will able to use pictures in my blog as much while I am gone because of the internet limits, but hopefully I can still use a few!  I need to stop using so many exclamation points!

That's all for now!

  1. The other dish was salmon tartar and was also very yummy. I'm going to miss trying new foods with you. Be sure to record your favorite worldwide restaurants so you can share them with me someday!

  2. Your mom told me how impressive you two were to go down first and come up last. Impressive breath work!
